Jackie Ray Alewine, Sr., 75, resident of 1157 Willie Kay Rd. husband of Regina Alewine passed away Wednesday Sept. 26, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Born in Abbeville Co. SC he was a son of the late Floyd Alewine and Eloise Watkins Alewine.
Jackie was a retired Bread Route salesman with Sara Lee Company. He was a former member of the Abbeville National Guard Unit. Jackie was an active member of Southside Baptist Church in Honea Path, SC where he was also a Sunday School Class Teacher of the Men’s Bible Class. He will be sorely missed by his loving family and his many friends.
Survivors include: His beloved wife of 20 years Regina Smith Alewine of the home: three sons Jackie Ray Alewine, Jr. of Lewisville, TX, John Alewine (JoAnn) of Calhoun Falls, SC and Jonathan Bedenbaugh of the home; three daughters Karen A. Ashley (Keith) of Calhoun Falls, SC, Treva A. Burgess (Jimmy) of Hendersonville, NC and Christel Parnell of Donalds, SC; one brother Larry Alewine of Anderson, SC; ten grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a brother John “Skeet” Hilley.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday Sept. 30, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Southside Baptist Church in Honea Path, SC with the Rev. Travis Dyar officiating. The burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Belton, SC.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at the church prior to services. The family is at the home 1157 Willie Kay Rd. Donalds, SC.
